High power laser mirrors are designed for specific wavelength laser applications where low wavefront distortion, low scattering, high reflectivity, and high damage threshold are required.  These multi-layer dielectric mirrors are specifically

 

designed and manufactured using an Ion Assisted Deposition (IAD) coating process to produce laser mirrors with the highest tolerance to incident laser energy.   Using an IAD coating process yields a high reflection coating that is more dense, has less stress, is more durable and therefore exhibits higher laser damage threshold than mirrors made without IAD.  Our computerized coating process also ensures that run to run performance variances are eliminated.

 

The substrates for these high power mirrors are precision polished to eliminate sub-surface micro structure and yield surfaces better than lambda.gif (65 bytes)/10 flatness and 10-5 smoothness.   Standard diameters are one-half inch, three-quarter inch, one inch, and two inches.   Standard wavelengths include 1064nm, 1054nm, 532nm, 355nm, and 266m.  For lower wavelengths turn to the UV Optics Section on page 38.  These mirrors are designed for use at 45 degree angle of incidence.  Please call us for 0 degree mirrors information.
